The experience
Embark on an unforgettable 4-days private journey from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, crossing some of southern Morocco’s most spectacular landscapes. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs, palm-filled valleys, dramatic gorges, and traditional villages before reaching the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Along the way, discover Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura, the Rose Valley, Dades Valley and Todra Gorge before experiencing the highlight of the journey: a camel ride across the Sahara dunes, sunset over Erg Chebbi, and an overnight desert camp beneath the stars.
With four days, the journey offers a more comfortable pace than the classic three-day route, allowing more time for sightseeing, photography, cultural encounters, and scenic stops.

Itinerary
Depart Marrakech in the morning and cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Continue to Aït Ben Haddou, the famous fortified ksar, with time to explore its traditional earthen architecture and scenic surroundings. Continue through Ouarzazate and finish the day with an overnight stay in Ouarzazate or Skoura.
Diner · Ksar el KababbaAfter breakfast, travel through the beautiful Valley of Roses, Dades Valley, and traditional Berber villages. Continue toward the impressive Todra Gorge, with time for a short walk before heading farther south to Merzouga.
Arrive near the Erg Chebbi dunes, then continue to your desert camp for your first Sahara evening. Enjoy the sunset, dinner, and the peaceful desert atmosphere beneath the stars.
Enjoy a full day to relax at your Sahara desert camp and take in the peaceful atmosphere of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the day at your own pace, enjoying the surroundings, the camp facilities, and the unique silence of the desert.
If you would like to explore more of the Merzouga area, you can add an optional Desert Excursion Add-On, which include a 4x4 tour around the dunes, local villages, Khamlia, Rissani village, nomadic communities, scenic desert stops, or other nearby experiences.
Wake early for an optional Sahara sunrise before breakfast. Leave Merzouga and begin the return journey toward Marrakech, passing through southern Morocco’s valleys, desert landscapes, and mountain scenery. (same road)
The return drive is long, with comfort stops along the way before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.

Staying two nights in Merzouga was the best part of our Morocco trip. The first evening was magical, and having the following day completely free allowed us to enjoy the dunes and peaceful atmosphere. We added the desert excursion and really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area.
The journey from Marrakech to Merzouga was incredible. The landscapes changed completely along the way, from the Atlas Mountains and kasbahs to the beautiful Sahara dunes. Having two nights at the desert camp gave us time to relax instead of rushing. A truly memorable experience.
A fantastic way to experience southern Morocco and the Sahara. The itinerary included beautiful mountain scenery, valleys, historic villages, and an unforgettable desert camp. The return to Marrakech is a long drive, so adding an extra night would be a great option for travelers who prefer a slower pace.
The drive is long, but the scenery and stops along the way make it part of the adventure. Aït Ben Haddou, Todra Gorge, and the desert were highlights for us. We especially appreciated having a full day to relax at the camp before returning to Marrakech.
